Each Timeslot on the Network Interface (either connecting towards the network or to drop-side equipment) must be configured with a signaling type. The P32mxi automatically performs signaling conversion, which means that the signaling type on the digital (T1/E1) interface does not need to match the signaling type on the voice (VF) side of the connection. This capability allows FXS Ground Start VF lines to be connected to FXO Loop Start digital trunks, or FXO VF circuits to be connected to an R2 Digital trunk.
As a shortcut in a simple channel bank configuration, signaling can also be changed when the crossconnections are made. See Changing Timeslot Signaling in the Making System Crossconnections section.
At the bottom of the Card Configuration and Trunk (or Line) Interface Assignment window is the Timeslot Channel Assignments block. (For a T1 circuit 24 timeslots are shown, while for an E1 circuit 30 timeslots are shown.)

In the Signaling pull-down, choose the signaling which is used by this timeslot. For an explanation of the different types of signaling see the section on All About Signaling. Current choices are:

After the signaling type is chosen, then the timeslot needs to be selected as either a Line or Trunk. For interfaces connected to an IXC or CO, select Trunk. For a drop side interface, select Line.
If the timeslot is part of a Versapath, check the Enable Versapath box and set the timeslots' Logical Versapath Number and Inbound Trunk Group. Check here for more detail about Versapath Provisioning. If part of a standard channel bank application, make sure the Enable Versapath box is not checked.
Finally, if you want to set all (or a range) of the timeslots to have the same type of signaling, enter a range of timeslots separated by a dash and press the Set These button. For example, entering "1-16" will set timeslots 1 to 16 to have the identical provisioning as is shown in the form. No other timeslots will be affected.
Finally, press Done when finished with the timeslot signaling configuration.
