Navigating the Main Screen

The Main StarCAD screen is the launch point for provisioning your system:

The screen is a stylized representation of the system in a real network.

The top half of the picture represents connections to the outside world (Trunk side connections). Trunks include digital Network Interfaces (T1/xDSL) and analog FXO/DPT interfaces. Clicking on a Network Cloud, the FXO/DPT or T1/xDSL bubbles, or the Trunk Interfaces box will allow you to provision the Trunk Interfaces.

The bottom half represents connections to local equipment (Line side connections) such as phones (FXS interfaces) and drop T1's that go to external routers or digital PBX's. Clicking on either the Phone, Router, Drop T1 or FXS/DPO bubbles, or the Line Interfaces box will allow you to provision the Line Interfaces.

For more information, see the section on Understanding "Lines" and "Trunks".

The middle of the picture is used for connecting the Lines and Trunks together (via the System Crossconnect). Pressing Packet Voice & Data Configuration will allow you to configure the internal router and associated data/packet interfaces. See Packet Voice/Data Configuration.

The V.35 data port can be provisioned directly by clicking on the V.35 Interface on the Main Screen, or by pressing Configure for Card 7 (the V.35 "card") in either the Line or Trunk Provisioning screens. Click on Ethernet to configure the Ethernet LAN port attached to the internal router (RAVE Module).

The Versapath Feature Set box will bring up the Versapath Provisioning menu.

Clicking on the outer gray ring around the P32mxi system will open the Common System Information screen.

The four buttons on the left are system-level operations:
