Installing Network Modules

BEFORE INSTALLING OR REMOVING ANY CIRCUIT BOARDS FROM THE P32xi/P32mxi, ENSURE THAT ALL POWER HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE SYSTEM. THIS INCLUDES THE 110VAC PLUG AND THE -48VDC BATTERY CONNECTOR!!!

The circuit boards in the P32xi/P32mxi are NOT hot swappable!

Plugging any module into the P32xi/P32mxi chassis with power applied will destroy the module and potentially the main motherboard and power supply. And it definitely voids your warranty!

Installing Network Interface A

  1. Remove all cables from the P32mxi chassis.
  2. Remove the screws from the chassis.
  3. Remove the top cover.
  4. If VX board installed:
  1. Remove the screws from the 1" standoffs on the main motherboard.
  2. Remove the VX board from the chassis.
  1. Plug the Network Interface on to main motherboard in the appropriate slot.
  2. Tighten the retaining screws on the Network Interface so that they are snug (not too tight).
  3. If VX board was installed (Step 4), re-install VX board.
  4. Replace the top cover and re-install the screws removed in Step 2.
  5. Replace all cables.

Installing Network Interface B

Network Interface B requires the VX board for installation.

  1. Plug the Network Interface on to the VX board in the appropriate slot.
  2. Tighten the retaining screws on the Network Interface so that they are snug (not too tight).
  3. Install VX board.
  1. Install the screws on the 1" standoffs on the main motherboard (to hold down the VX board).
  2. Replace the top cover and re-install the screws removed in Step 2.
  3. Replace all cables.
