Drop Side (Digital) Interface Configuration

Click on the Drop Side Interface tab to show which interface you want to modify (A or B). Then, select the Interface Type (T1, E1, or G.shdsl) and Enable the interface.

The System Timing is defined as both a Primary and Secondary source. If either Network Interface is enabled, it can be the system clock source. The Internal Clock can also be selected as the the Primary or Secondary source, however if the Internal Clock is chosen as the Primary source then the Secondary source will never be selected.

It is highly recommended that you not set the System Timing source to come from a Line side interface!

T1 Provisioning

Set all of the specific T1-related parameters now. Most of these will be specified by the network provider:

Framing Format choices are SuperFrame (SF) or Extended SuperFrame (ESF). Note that TR-08 interfaces are not used with Line side equipment since the P32xi/mxi cannot emulate the TR-08 COT signaling.

Line Coding choices are AMI, B8ZS, or None.

The BPV/CRC Error Threshold determines at what BPV/CRC error rate that a T1 alarm will be declared:

BPV RATE

NUMBER OF ERRORS

1x10^-6

1 BPV per second

1x10^-5

15 BPVs per second

1x10^-4

154 BPVs per second

1x10^-3

1544 BPVs per second

Line Build Out is used for both setting up the internal T1 CSU (with 0, -7.5, -15, and -22.5 dB LBO settings) or to set the loop length for T1 DSX operation. Setting 0 (the default) is used for either a 0 dB CSU or a DSX circuit that is only 0-133 feet long.

RX Level Sensitivity is normally set to -30 dB.

E1 Provisioning

Framing Format choices are normal E1 (E1) and E1 with CRC-4 (E1-CRC).

Line Coding choices are AMI and HDB3.

The BPV/CRC Error Threshold determines at what BPV/CRC error rate that an E1 alarm will be declared:

BPV RATE

NUMBER OF ERRORS

1x10^-6

2 BPVs per second

1x10^-5

20 BPVs per second

1x10^-4

204 BPVs per second

1x10^-3

2048 BPVs per second

RX Level Sensitivity is normally set to -12 dB, but can be set to -43 dB if necessary.

G.shdsl Provisioning

G.shdsl is coming!
